We have been working our tails off at Curiosities! Christmas was wild and the aftermath has been a nonstop whirlwind of shopping and more shopping! The last two weeks we have completely redoing a major chunk o Curiosities – spring cleaning in the winter!!!! Here are some of the fruits of our labour.

Back from the cold with a few things old…

Just returned last night from another great weekend buying trip up north. It was uncomfortably cold and windy, but that did not stop us from finding some great merch for CuRioSiTieS…. Hear are just a few of the many great finds we came up with.

Found this great early 20th century pair of african american folk art carvings, seated on a vintage 1960s wood with metal wheels skateboard. Pair of carvings $225 Skateboard $40

Another great find was this complete case Galaxy home syrups from he 1950s – create your own flavored soda! when you are done the empty bottles double as banks – far out!!!!! Available now contact for price.

This one was a no brainer!!! For the queen of the south!!! It speaks for it self

Haunted Doll House and a few blogs

Just back from Thanksgiving camping trip in Arkansas with ice cold nights and beautiful days! Left a day early to get some obligatory shopping done out of the way. Over the past years of my shopping experience in Arkansas it has never been the “wow this is a goldmine” experience. This trip turned my mind the other direction – it seemed every corner I turned was followed by finding cool loot!!! My favorite find was THE HAUNTED DOLL HOUSE!!!! It is a tramp art doll house probably from the 1930s made from old cigar boxes and it definitely looks haunted… Available now 28 wide x 24 tall $375

Just got back the cast aluminum medical symbol back from my stand designer and it looks amazing! It is Ascepius – the god of medicine and healing in ancient Greek religion and is commonly used on the side of a medical building. Size is 44 tall – available now $475

Kansas home to great antiques and a secret Tinfoil Gallery!

Just returned from my favorite hunting grounds in Kansas with a truck load of wonderfull finds. My partner in crime (mom) plus our recent addition to Curiosities Jody Slider made the haul up to Kansas in the Black Skark (my toyota pickup) Saturday. The picken was good – we found lots of great vintage xmas items needed for our holiday display that is up and ready for the Turkey fed crowds of shopers next week! My favorite buy was a amazing 1964 Sears Spaceliner chrome to the max bike (sory it sold as I was unloading it from the truck!) , also found an amazing photo of a parade of bikes from the 1930s/40s.

Another cool find was a vintage cast aluminum medical sign of a serpent wraped around a post from the 1950s ( sory no photo – having a stand built for it). My mom scored big on a victorian feather xmas tree, plus some wonderfull cast aluminum round letters, and some great mercury glass turn o the century xmass ornaments. My favorite item Jody grabbed was a pair of Bull Blinders (used to keep the bulls eyes off of the hot foxy cows during milking sessions) also she found a great mini salesman sample dumpster…. One of the stranger sights we came across was the secret tinfoil gallery of art hidden away in a little junk shop in Kansas.

There is definatly something in the Kansas water system that makes people up there more creative! The amazing amount of cool folk art enviroments and objects makes Kansas such a pleasure to travel and hunt!!!
